Coronavirus

The Coronavirus first started in Wuhan China, 31st December 2019. The Coronavirus is a family of viruses that can affect our respiratory system. The first signs of Coronavirus are fever, dry cough, runny nose and tiredness. If you were to visit New Zealand you would have to isolate yourself for 14 days. The most affected countries are China, Hong Kong, Macau, Italy, Switzerland, USA (United States of America), Iran, South Korea, Spain, Germany and France. In China there have been 3000 deaths and in Italy there have been 17,660 deaths.

My Lenten Promise Poster

Today I created a poster about Lent. Lent is a special time some people celebrate. When it is Lent we do almsgiving, charity, praying and fasting.

My Prayer

Dear God,
Please bless the people in China who can't come to be safe. Please bless the people who are stuck in China. Help us to find us a cure so that people can be healed. Please help my family members who are stuck in the Asian countries that can't be safe and the people who don't have planes to go somewhere else. Please bless all the families who have lost their loved ones. Please help my family members who have lost their lives through the terrible coronavirus.Please help us to find a cure to heal the people who are suffering. Please help the people who are struggling to find face masks and protection. Please hope that We are safe.

Today I created a poster about St. Mary Mackillop. Mary Mackillop was the founder of our school. She help the poor people and she loved God very much.

My Swimming Recount

HOOK-Fun Time

 I was happy that we got the opportunity to go swimming at Dean Greenwood Swimming Pool. I was excited when we were able to go swimming at  the Dean Greenwood Swimming Pool in New Windsor. My class went swimming for two weeks. We always had our snacks from 9:50 am till 10:00 am. Our swimming class always started at 10:30am and finished at 11:00am. My swimming teachers were Rebecca and Rhya. Rhya was only there to take over Rebecca when she couldn't work. I  went with my friends and my classmates. I sat with Theresa most of the time but I sometimes sat with Aadirai, Rocio, Ayla and Alexus. When I sat down on the bus when it was moving it went up and down and sometimes bumpy. When there were lanes my group had 9 people in it, including me. The names of the people in my group were Ching, Jia, Sisliah, Trelia, Lyrissa, Siaki, Jenesys, Michael and Ken F .

When I  put my feet in the water it tickled and when I hopped in, it was cold. The water froze my body. Sometimes we were in lanes and sometimes we were a whole class with no lanes. My Nana took some pictures on her phone of me and Theresa. She sent all the photos to my Mum. Me and Theresa were partners when there were no lanes. On the second to last day we all tried on life jackets. It was fun when we were in life jackets. On the last day we swam under the boat but we didn't say hi to the instructors. We just went under in one go. When Room 5 came to Dean Greenwood swimming pool in New Windsor. We had to get out of the swimming pool. It was fun. 

On the last day I really didn't want to get out because I loved swimming but I had to get out. Sadly we had to wait for next year to have swimming lessons. I miss swimming. I loved being in the pool. Hopefully next year we go again. 

My Treaty of Waitangi Poster

Today I made a poster on the Treaty of Waitangi. I Learned about Captain Cook, Henry Williams and Maori people. 1 fact that I learned was Maori people came before Captain Cook. The new thing that I learned was that when Captain Cook visited New Zealand his name was James Cook.
